I was inspired to write Finding Mr Right: The Real Woman's Guide to Landing That Man by my own experiences.

After years of wasted dating trial and error, purely by chance I met my husband. Everything that had been so wrong in the past, suddenly went right. We were both 37. We tripped up the aisle when we were 38 and I gave birth to our first son on the cusp of 40. Our second son was born a few months short of my 42nd birthday.
I didn't feel old - maybe I looked it sometimes - although my twenties and early thirties seemed so far back in the past. Fortysomething! In my mind, I had only just slipped under the age net. I had found a wonderful husband, and had had two beautiful children just in the nick of time.
But as the years have rolled past, I have come to realize that I wasn't actually that old. All around me, women in their late thirties to mid forties are settling down, finally. And some of them are having children. 40 is indeed the new 30.
So I wanted to distill lots of different perspectives and experiences relating to not having a life partner whilst getting older. I hope that the end result - this book - will prove inspiring and encouraging to any woman who is anxious because she is still single and thinks she's running out of time.
